The Provider Pricing Data Analyst is responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex data analysis projects. Also responsible for planning and implementing projects that drive efficiency and quality within the Provider Configuration department. Ideal candidate must be able to manipulate, analyze, and interpret pricing data using Access, Excel, SQL, and VBA and then be able to provide answers to business questions and pricing issues found through analyzing various data sources Facets/NetworX, CMS, customer-specific fee schedules and/or Medicaid agencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creation and maintenance of pricing source data: customer specific fee schedules, Medicare or Medicaid
  • Assemble large and complex data sets that meet business functional requirements
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements by working with stakeholders to understand opportunities related to provider pricing functions
  • Build analytic tools that utilize pricing data from Facets, NetworX, CMS, or Medicaid that provide actionable insights into provider pricing configuration, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Keep internally created pricing tools secure and functioning by preforming regular maintenance and break/fix functions
  • Maintain pricing knowledge by working with Configuration Analysts, Managers, Supervisors, Technology, and Subject Matter Experts to support and promote accurate provider processing
  • Generate claim reports that help scale and quantify rework associated with incorrect provider pricing installation

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of working with advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), performing backend table updates, as well as familiarity with a variety of database types
  • Experience working with end-users and gathering requirements
  • Experience creating user-stories and wireframes
  • Experience working with and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, Facets architecture and data set
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Experience working with Medicare or Medicaid fee schedules
  • Advanced user of Excel
  • Solid analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
  • Successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets and creating tools to support extraction tools and processes for others to use
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams (Provider Pricing, Provider Data Management, Network Contractors, Claim Operations, Contract Management Experts, or others as needed)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in business or healthcare
  • Experience working with pricing data in a medical insurance & provider pricing organization
  • Experience with Facets / NetworX Pricing data
  • Experience with UHC Secondary Platforms (NDB, COSMOS, NICE and PULSE)

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
