We are seeking a Sr. Advanced Electrical FPGA Engineer to design and enhance the control system for our next-generation quantum computers at our Broomfield, CO or remote location. For this role, we are seeking a lead engineer with expertise in FPGA design and verification. Other skills such as board design and embedded software are a bonus. All employees should work at their assigned location; however, this role may offer the opportunity to work remote, with approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a complex electronic control system capable of controlling digital, analog, and RF signals
  • Perform FPGA design and verification
  • Assist design team to complete projects on-time with first-pass success
  • Provide technical expertise that informs future product development and process improvements across the organization
  • Work in an R&D and rapid prototyping environment


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in the specification, development, simulation, and implementation of FPGA designs
  • Applicants for employment for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Quantinuum. (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status)


  • Masters/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
  • 6+ years of industry experience in an engineering or R&D environment
  • FPGA design and verification, including Xilinx software and IP, as well as mastery of VHDL, Verilog, and/or System Verilog
  • Architecture of complex systems and partitioning designs into subcomponents with well-defined HW and SW interfaces
  • Embedded software experience, especially involving Zynq Ultrascale+ FPGAs and processors, is a plus
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate drive for improvement in an ambiguous environment
  • Strong communication skills and “right size” design documentation

Salary Range: $122,000 - $153,000
