Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing Engineering

Reporting to: Manufacturing Engineering & Operations Manager

Location: Gloucester, MA

The Electrical Engineer will work directly with other Manufacturing, Industrial, Process, and Test Engineers to facilitate various activities to improve the manufacturability, repeatability, and process controls related to XP Power’s RF products. The core responsibility of the Electrical Engineer is to support the larger team in expanding our current production capacity and capabilities to meet the needs of our customers.

· Collaborate with mechanical and test engineers to design, commission, and continuously improve electro-mechanical assemblies, fixtures, processes, and procedures to efficiently and repeatedly produce high quality RF products

· Analyze manufacturing data and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement; identify and utilize methods of making manufacturing process more efficient and effective

· Fabricate and/or modify existing prototype components and fixtures for production and NPI

· Utilize and enhance data systems to monitor and improve first pass yield using structured problem solving to identify root cause of failures and consistent process complications

· Implement product and process engineering changes as required thru the ECO/ECR process and maintain documentation (test/assembly procedures, training and operation manuals, equipment/tool calibration, etc.)

· Carry out manufacturability (DFM/DFT) review on all new products in a timely manner

· Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

> Key Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with RF knowledge or 5-7 years of related work experience

o Other engineering degrees with relevant experience may also be considered for this role

· Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

o Preferably related to power electronics or other complex electromechanical systems

· Proficient with various CAD software packages (Altium preferred, OrCAD, PADS, EAGLE, etc.)

· Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to meet strict customer-based deadlines

· Proficient in using common desktop applications such as Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute requirements delivered in various formats
