Position Summary

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Project Engineer to recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products. In this role, you will collect and analyze manufacturing data to investigate and troubleshoot operational problems effecting production . The ideal candidate has a passion for continuous process improvement while meeting production, quality, and safety standards. A working knowledge of engineering principles and concepts will further your success in this role.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Works with department supervisors to coordinate and support activities, projects and assigns duties to operators running CNC mills and lathes, punch presses, press brakes and other machine or sheet metal shop equipment.
  • Collects and analyzes manufacturing data to investigate and troubleshoot operational problems affecting production while maintaining communication with pertinent Managers/Supervisors regarding problems/solutions.
  • Improves existing operations, and incorporates new methods and processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Develops, designs and tests production aids, fixtures and tooling for improved efficiency.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts.
  • Evaluates new products, materials, tools, work pieces, and process(es) to ensure part specifications will be met in accordance with quality standards.
  • Provide technical expertise to help interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers.
  • Prepares manufacturing documentation, and maintains records and reporting systems for the coordination of manufacturing operations.
  • Maintains time and production records to run an efficient department.
  • Identifies ways to reduce production costs
  • Troubleshoots and implements programs to reduce scrap.
  • Coordinates and implements engineering change notices (ECN’s) and corrective actions, including training workers as a result of these changes.
  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines and equipment.
  • Performs duties in support of the company’s quality policy, ISO 13485:2016 and FDA/QSR.



  • BS degree in manufacturing, industrial or mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 4 years’ experience in a machine or sheet metal shop environment which includes operational analysis and improvements.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, sheet metal and machining processes
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and concepts
  • Proficiency in mechanical design using solid modeling CAD tools
  • Competency in computer systems, engineering software, CAD and MS Word and MS Excel
  • Working knowledge of shop mathematics using metrics and conversion to standard
