Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, Node.js, Go, .NET, and/or JavaScript.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in operability, reliability, or release engineering.
  • Experience working with third-party developer tools, including creating documentation, Application Program Interfaces (APIs), SDKs, and client libraries.
  • Experience as a contributor to an open source project.
  • A passion for cloud security and networking.

About the job

As a Developer Programs Engineer (DPE), you will provide feedback on API design, platform consistency, and functionality. You will write sample code and work with our technical writing teams to produce developer documentation, quick-starts, and tutorials. You'll participate in developer forums and help troubleshoot developer problems.
In this role, you will help customers learn how to adopt modern software development and operational patterns through the creation of samples, tutorials, and other types of content that show building, developing, and deploying applications as source code or containers using GCP technology. You will work in close collaboration with developer advocates, technology writers, product teams, sales, and professional services.
Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum salary range between $130,000 - $139,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. *Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.


  • Implement, release, and manage open source Software Development Kits (SDKs), APIs, demo apps, tools, samples, blog posts, technical guides, and/or videos.
  • Assist third-party developers in troubleshooting their integrations with Google APIs and use of other Google developer products online.
  • Participate in building excellent developer communities, publishing blog posts/guides, and promoting APIs.
  • Advocate for developers and influence Google developer product strategy by working with Product Management, Engineering, PR, Marketing, Business Development, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Help product engineering teams improve developer products by conveying feedfrom developers, reviewing API designs, and testing features.
