Vehicle Infotainment Systems is a rapidly developing area of automotive engineering. Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) is the new vehicle intelligence platform that will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including intuitive infotainment systems that enhance the traveler experience.

In this role, you will partner closely with Architect and Designers to build extraordinary embedded software. Develop a deep understanding of operating system concepts, specifically memory / resource management, scheduling, process management and synchronization.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Experience doing development in embedded development, i.e. in constrained environment
  • Develop software in Java for our Android VIP platform
  • Design communication protocols that enable the features and services generated by our groundbreaking Ultify platform
  • Participate in variety of software and ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and VCU testing including unit testing, integration testing, bench end to end testing and in-vehicle test
  • Lead integration and verification testing
  • Work closely with Embedded software engineers, the Android Application software team, hardware and System Engineering teams to implement and optimize features for system-on-chip (SOC) devices
  • Define, develop, and verify all interfaces to related SW architectural elements are complete
  • Describe, evaluate, and verify dynamic behavior and interaction between the related SW architectural elements
  • Analyze requirement and map them to existing architecture or extend the architecture starting from the visualization phase
  • Design, develop and maintain software modules and apps for Android and Linux devices
  • Solid understanding of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior team members and guide them on important architectural aspects & decisions
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
  • Solid understanding of Android UI design principles, patterns, and standard methodologies
  • Offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Contribute in decision making for solution strategy considering the features / limitations / guidelines of Android and Linux framework.
  • Documentation of requirement specifications and designs etc.

Required Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing Android, QNX based software development
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and / or related field
  • Solid understanding of QNX operating system
  • Good understanding of inter-process communication in QNX
  • Solid understanding of Linux operating system
  • Experienced in C and C++ development
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and notifications
  • Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
  • Understanding of Embedded / custom Linux distribution development / management
  • Has Android Framework expertise, Linux kernel level development experience, Familiarity with Linux toolchains, Android Studio and Android Native development tools
  • Experience working on large-scale software projects
  • Experience developing software in C++ and Java on Android and Linux
  • Experience working with Media Streaming, file transfers, Data transfer mechanism across different channels cloud / Edge / backoffice.

WebSocket, webRTC, gRPC, MQTT etc.

Professional experience analyzing code for weaknesses and errors, and supervising plans to improve them

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in a related technical field
  • Experience with C++, Python, Rust, Kotlin and Java development
  • Experience with GIT / source code management, CI / CD development, open source SW development / contributor
  • Experience with microcontroller architecture, electronic control systems, embedded system development
  • Experience with network engineering, telecommunications, network development and testing
  • Experience with edge, cloud, IoT technologies, operating systems, OS internals, OS design, virtualization technologies, containerization / container development
  • Knowledge of data science, data analytic tools, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI)
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR standards and methodology
  • Knowledge and experience with CAN, LIN or Ethernet communications protocol
  • Experience in IoT

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid in accordance with Colorado law.

The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of Colorado. The median level of salary compensation for this role is $113,760-$126,756
