ABOUT CAOM

CAOM is a private, non-profit association of insurance companies that write workers’ compensation insurance in Michigan. CAOM collects, processes and analyzes worker’s compensation policy and claim data for member companies and state regulators. CAOM’s sister organization, the Michigan Workers’ Compensation Placement Facility, processes worker’s compensation coverage applications for businesses that are unable to get coverage by ordinary means due to high claim activity, high risk operations, or other reasons. Established by state statute in
1983 and funded by its member insurance carriers, CAOM is the sole organization responsible for these duties in Michigan, resulting in a uniquely stable work environment regardless of economic fluctuation. CAOM’s small number of employees (less than 35) provide a family-like atmosphere and are consistently recognized for outstanding customer service.

ABOUT THE JOB

Under direct supervision using prescribed procedures, perform software development tasks and application support for various internal applications and web applications.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. C# Programming

  • Problem resolution or enhancements to existing proprietary applications
  • Development of new proprietary tools

2. SQL Programming and reporting

  • Perform ad-hoc queries on as needed basis
  • Develop new / enhance existing reports

3. Maintenance on the company website

  • Manage website content
  • Establish and maintain user authentication
  • Develop/enhance website infrastructure and functionality

4. Support

  • Provide application support to the operations teams
  • Technical support to our membership and partners

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience

Level 5: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Communication Skills

Level 3: Ability to read and interpret documents such as functional specifications, design documents, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, high-level specifications and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Problem Solving Aptitude

Level 4: Demonstrate an ability to analyze complex problems and propose and implement good solutions.

Computer / Software Skills

Level 4: Advanced knowledge of a personal computer, including Microsoft Windows, email software, internet browser and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to perform complex tasks requiring the use of a variety of software.

Experience with C#, ASP.NET, javascript and SQL
