Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project Management and oversight of clinical programs under the guidance of the National Medical Director/CMO of Behavioral Health or designee and in collaboration with internal and external teams
  • This role will require a methodical and critical thinking mindset with the ability to handle multiple priorities as well as the ability to drive implementation of initiatives and monitor existing programs with the support from Enterprise executive leaders to operational support teams

Initiative Implementation and Oversight

  • Implementation of initiatives that have a variety of approaches and requirements in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Project manage multiple initiatives by defining scope, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, cost-benefit analysis, process flows, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques
  • Maintain relationships across teams to ensure effective support and feedback loops and that deliverables are met
  • Collaborates with appropriate individuals to provide required documents for committee and/or governance meetings
  • Project manage to complete implementation activities as assigned
  • Assist in problem solving to help make decisions to move implementation forward
  • Assist Clinical Program Director and Designer in solving complex operational and financial performance barriers (pre-implementation and post-deployment)
  • Support team in overseeing clinical vendor relationships and ongoing management of program operations
  • Leverage historic experience to drive enterprise alignment in vendor relationship oversight tactics and apply best practices towards management of new programs

Partnership Skills

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors
  • Ability to navigate LOBs to deploy programs
  • Help manage day-to-day relationship with program team to drive performance excellence, promote best practices and seek solution-oriented initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-segment and cross-functional partners and key stakeholders to resolve issues and implement solutions

Quantitative Analysis

  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators for specific clinical programs to define timelines and documentation necessary for financial compliance and performance
  • Be able to link the expected affordability result to every part of the implementation and scope of the program and explain how the execution can affect that affordability
  • Evaluate data from the analytic teams to correlate the expected affordability results to the operational reality of the program
  • Conduct operational team reviews to determine FTE needs and costs

Presentation Skills

  • Create high-quality PowerPoint presentations
  • Speak clearly on complex problems across a wide range of audiences
  • Provide regular updates regarding the implementation process and post-deployment monitoring

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 3+ years working in a health care setting, preferably in a managed healthcare company
  • 3+ years of project management experience including tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets and making data-driven analytical decisions
  • Advanced level of proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Preferred Qualifcations:

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
  • Medicare or Medicaid guidelines experience
  • Experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder program design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong data presentation skill
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast paced, highly matrixed environment
  • Problem solving skills, including the ability to work independently and systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions, and successfully devise/implement solutions calmly and effectively

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
