Salary Range

$73,900 - $142,300

  • Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like

Organization 10579, SPP Financial Management, is seeking a proactive, innovative, and dynamic Business Management Professional to lead the SPP Funding team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall health and performance of SPP Funding activities. These include, but are not limited to, applying funding to SPP projects, SPP funds transfers, and license and royalty funding/distributions.

On any given day, one may be called upon to:

  • Develop solutions to specific problems related to funding issues of moderate scope, complexity, and impact with either internal or external customers
  • Design, develop, and facilitate strategic planning and process improvements
  • Collaborate with Internal & external mission partners to implement mandated changes
  • Drive efficiencies in SPP Funding through process improvement and automation
  • Monitor and maintain all SPP Funding Quality Management Systems documentation
  • Make recommendations to management on policies, general business operations, and activities
  • Lead the Funding subarea, mentoring and guiding junior level staff and interns while monitoring and maintaining healthy SPP Funding metrics

Qualifications We Require

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or a relevant field, plus 5 years related experience; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
  • Experience working with external agencies and/or SNL executive leadership
  • The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of accounting concepts and principles, analytical skills, and regulatory and statutory knowledge as they relate to Strategic Partnership Projects
  • Knowledge of financial controls and accountability, and strong PC/MS Office skills (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook)
  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Knowledge of Appropriation Law
  • Experience with Oracle software
  • The demonstrated ability to complete formal internal and external deliverables timely
  • Experience handling high-volume and competing requests
  • Proven communication skills, attention to detail, and team-working capabilities
  • Exceptional orientation toward customer service and relationship building

About Our Team

SPP (Strategic Partnership Project) work implemented at Sandia National Laboratories includes areas of defense systems, energy, and climate technologies, and international, homeland and nuclear security, all which support the DOE’s mission. Reimbursable projects are used to perform work for non-DOE facilities, including, but not limited to, Other Federal Agencies (OFAs) and Non-Federal Entities (NFEs).

The SPP Financial Management Organization resides within Sandia’s CFO group and has five main products for all SPP work performed at the labs: budgeting, funding, cost monitoring, accounts receivable, and the closing out of agreements.

The resulting day-to-day activities of the SPP Organization are comprised of a customer-centric and cyclical operational environment. The SPP Organization does all this with a customer focus that brings functional expertise to both internal and external customers and helps them monitor and control their SPP projects.

Security Clearance

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.
