The Nordstrom Credit business is a large and growing division of Nordstrom that supports over $10B in annual sales on its Nordstrom Visa, Nordstrom Retail, and Nordstrom Debit products. We have over 5MM cardholders who enjoy using their cards to shop in Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores, on Nordstrom.com and Hautelook.com, while our Visa cardholders use their cards to earn Nordstrom Rewards everywhere Visa is accepted.

The Data Analyst 2 is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to improve decision-making for the Credit Tech team. This individual should have a high degree of curiosity about the business and the skills to discover impactful insights from data.

A day in the life…

Partner with key stakeholders on business intelligence and data analysis problems
Mine complex data and transform it into actionable information
Use advanced data visualization techniques to communicate solutions to business stakeholders
Provide exceptional customer service through professionalism, ownership and initiative
Demonstrate productivity through the efficient use of time and a commitment to strong results
Dive deep into complex business problems and provide insights to Credit business stakeholders such as Care Support and Loss Mitigation
Actively collaborate to apply learning to other channels/products/business units
Mine data sources for new information and metrics, implementing new data collection systems where existing information is limited and/or non-existent.
Work with fellow team members and partners to continuously improve, streamline and automate report design, production, delivery, and documentation.
Identify and implement solutions for best-in-class data management practices to ensure accurate, reliable, and well-documented data and reports

You own this if you have…

2+ years of experience in extracting & manipulating large data sets from various relational databases using SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MariaDB, MS SQL, Teradata)
2+ years of corporate experience building and maintaining advanced Dashboards with Tableau
2+ years of corporate experience analyzing complex data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations (credit card, financial services, or payments a plus)
1+ year of professional experience using a scripting language (e.g., Python, R, VBA)
Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to convey results to non-experts
Self-directed ability to “hit-the-ground-running,” proactively identifying business data needs and formulating solutions with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving abilities for overcoming roadblocks, innovatively driving quality solutions, balancing multiple tasks, and competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment
Quantitative degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or similar quantitative analytics discipline
