PROJECT ENGINEER - DEVELOPMENT AND CONSTRUCTION

Company: ASI Builders Inc. (“ASI”) is a Los Angeles based multifamily builder. We purchase, entitle, develop, build, and operate multi-family and mixed-use buildings in the Los Angeles area. Our typical project is 50 to 150 units in size. We act as our own general contractor. We are a small, but vertically integrated company. We are looking for a Project Engineer to help manage the development and construction process. The successful candidate will gain exposure to every phase of the commercial real estate business from site acquisition to design, entitlement, construction, and lease-up.

Job Description: The Project Engineer will aid the Company in all facets of the business. The Project Engineer will work directly with the President of the Company and the Director of Operations and Construction. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for development and construction who wants to learn how to build in Southern California. In addition to the appropriate educational background, the successful candidate will have strong communication skills – written and verbal, a familiarity with construction, strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CAD, and Adobe skills, patience, curiosity, the ability to learn, the ability to self-manage, a strong sense of organization, and a positive attitude. The successful candidate will need to possess project management skills, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, common sense, and especially professionalism. The right candidate will represent the Company and interact with design consultants, city agencies, sub-contractors, and suppliers. We are looking for someone who can learn quickly, take ownership, and can work autonomously.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordination of plans including architectural, structural, MEPs
• Coordination and tracking of RFIs
• Coordination and tracking of Change Orders
• Bid procurement
• Writing scopes of work
• Coordination of sub-contractors
• Coordination of design consultants
• Coordination of the entitlement and permitting process

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Strong writing and communication skills
• Strong quantitative skills (with knowledge of Excel) are a plus
• Basic knowledge of building construction or building design
• Ability to use Revit / CAD / Blue Beam
• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
• Ability to work independently
• Strong organizational ability
• MS Office and basic computer literacy
• Interest in construction and development
• Some construction knowledge
• The ability to read plans
• The ability to think analytically and technically
• Comfort being in the office and in the field
• B.A. or B.S. degree in engineering or architecture or construction management

This is a full-time position.

Compensation is competitive and dependent upon experience.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
