. Requirements: ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and integrate internal and customer facing sites with web services including custom and 3rd party APIs.
• Participate in Scrum processes including sprint planning, standups, sprint reviews, etc.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure requirements are clear and meet the expectations of the product owner and stakeholders.
• Work with team members and customers in identifying and correcting deficiencies in our code base.
• Ability to work with, understand and refactor legacy code.
• Ability to read and understand partner specifications to implement interfaces to their systems.
• Be present in-office. Home office opportunities may be present up to 20% of the position's schedule.

DESIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES

• There is no “best” programming language, so we are looking for people who understand programming concepts and are flexible enough to use that knowledge to conquer tasks. This means you need in-depth experience with Java, Python, C++ or even C and can pick up new languages quickly.
• Use micro-service architecture and connect to external devices, so an understanding of network communications (sockets, APIs, REST) is essential.
• Experience with Postgres data storage and SQL for backend is helpful.
• Front end is web based using HTML/HTML 5/ CSS and experience with Ajax, React, jQuery would be good.
• We mostly run Ubuntu in VMs and Docker containers but do have some Windows apps as well, so being able to work on a Linux command line is critical and Docker experience is helpful.
• Agile (specifically Scrum) isn’t the answer to everything, but it does help so experience with Scrum is useful.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Must be proficient in one or more computer programming languages
• BS in computer engineering or computer science or equivalent experience
