As a Developer on the team you will be responsible for architecting, designing and implementing high-scale, global, innovative solutions that provide the best mobile experience for our customers.

RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Design, implementation, and deployment of one or more of the following: web services, web applications, or mobile applications.
  • Knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
  • Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions
  • Work with cross-functional teams across Amazon on the design and development of core platform functionality.
  • Work with the business team and project managers to convert functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
  • Work with engineers to define technical tasks and build detailed implementation plans.
He/she should be able to operate in a very fast paced environment where time to hit market is super critical. They would need to also balance technical leadership with savvy business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices.

Job responsibilities
  • Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to develop, design, and bring to market innovative devices and services
  • Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry
  • Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to cutting edge technologies at incredible scale and speed
  • Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
  • Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, test driven development.
  • Solid experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
  • Software development experience in JSP, Spring, AWS, S3, SQS, building web services and highly scalable applications or equivalent.
  • Proficiency using modern web development technologies and techniques, including JavaScript, responsive design, web services, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Hands-on expertise in wide-range of full-stack technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces (HTML5, JavaScript) through to API development, web-service development and mobile app development (Android, iOS, etc.).
  • Experience in e-commerce and Deep hands-on technical expertise.
  • Handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
-Understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time.
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches
  • Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive.
-The pay range for this position in Colorado is $143,700 - $194,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
