[Remote] Data Scientist Description

Our client is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team in the United States. You will be responsible for combining a wide range of statistical techniques with an agile software development approach to create market-leading optimization and business/financial recommendations to their customers. You will be solving problems centered around pricing and will use algorithmic approaches around numbers. So, a background in economics or frankly just an interest, will give you a step up. To be chosen for this role, you must have a wealth of exposure to various statistical techniques with the ability to simplify and explain complex analyses to non-technical internal and external clients. Because our client is product-centered, they need someone who will find a way to work through it rather than diving into the product and getting lost. They are looking for someone who will think through real life models and find a solution depending on what model makes sense. Being able to say, “I get the real-life model, and now I need to find a way to manage that statistically.” You’ll be producing an algorithm that will stand up to the real world without someone sitting there behind the curtain analyzing it. [Remote] Data Scientist Responsibilities

• Design and test statistical techniques for a wide variety of research questions
• Design, write, and debug software implementing statistical techniques
• Perform rigorous statistical analyses on unique research questions
• Create reports using presentation and charting software
• Communicate the results of statistical analyses to product and development teams

[Remote] Data Scientist Qualifications

• 2+ years of statistics and machine learning experience required
• Exposure to R and strong hands-on coding experience required
• Ability to understand and use statistical techniques, such as GLMs (logit, Poisson, hierarchical etc.), Bayesian inference, clustering analysis, principal component analysis, etc.
