Software Engineer

Engineering at NursingABC is an agile team of full-stack developers with a passion for designing, building, testing, and maintaining software for internal and external users. We are looking for back-end and front-end engineers (preferably with at least some experience in both areas) who love to learn and who have fun building team projects.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Participate in team discussions to architect and build modern applications
• Implement solutions to automate administrative tasks and to support our various applications (maintaining APIs between multiple platforms, website/web app development, database management, etc.)
• Test builds, analyze user feedback, and iterate quickly
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills Required:

• Familiarity with back-end technologies such as Python and MySQL
• Experience working with and/or building APIs (REST, JSON, JWT is a bonus)
• Experience with front-end technologies/frameworks (modern JavaScript, React, etc.)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms/architecture (AWS is a bonus)
• Even more important than specific technologies (which can, to some extent, be learned on the job), we’re looking for someone with great problem-solving skills and who is:

- Passionate about his or her work

- Prefers correct over fast

- Understands the importance of automated testing

- Enjoys working in a team environment but is able to work autonomously as well

Qualifications (Education Requirements/Experience):

• An undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science or related field
• Several years of industry experience is a plus

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, projectors, filing cabinets and fax machines.

• May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry and move light to medium weight. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and learn technical information.
• Light lifting is required. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be able to work from the office located in Chippewa Township, PA.

Travel:

This job requires occasional travel. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
