What You'll Do

This position is to report to PCSD’s Chief Technology Officer and work on PCSD-level Architecture Review Board to support all key projects. The ARB will review Windows, Android, Chrome, and Linux-based offerings using x86 and ARM ISAs, and hybrid xPU architectures. This exciting role will also give you the opportunity to work with industry leaders around the globe.

Lenovo Intelligent Device Group is looking for a talented, highly-motivated, and insightful strategist to develop and drive technical strategy directing where we should invest to create intellectual property. The candidate should have knowledge for various hardware and software architectures for both local and cloud instances. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a familiarity with working with different cultures across different time zones. The candidate will need to work effectively with our technical business leadership and with multiple global technical teams.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

1) Innovate with patentable ideas and concepts within an iterative product-focused process

2) Review and suggest improvements to designs and implementations for an extensive product portfolio

3) Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within quality assurance standards for worldwide deployment

4) Tune system/application performance and improve stability using a strong background in computer Operating Systems, embedded systems, and multi-threaded programming

5) Maintain focus on security, privacy, and software best-practices

6) Coach and technically lead software engineering teams across different geographies

Basic Qualifications

Minimum BS in CS, EE, or ECE
10+ years’ experience in software development
Strong knowledge in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming
Extensive knowledge in software architecture and design methodologies
Knowledge of standards, WIFI, 5G
Excellent communication skills
Passionate about innovation and discovery
Willing to take risks
Experience with AI, Graphics, Telephony/Connectivity, Cloud technologies

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing for communication systems and devices

4+ years of experience with Android platform or application software development
4+ years of experience with Windows platform or application software development
