About the Opportunity

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond's Corporate Planning Department, Corporate Strategy Team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Advisor who reports to the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

You will provide strategic guidance and consultation to District clients and leaders using both qualitative and quantitative analysis on complex business operations to strengthen business strategies and priorities. You will anticipate client needs by establishing personal rapport with all assigned clients, relying on relationships and business knowledge to implement initiatives that advance Fifth District strategic priorities, strengthen operations, and improve efficiency. As a member of the Corporate Planning Strategy team, you will contribute to some of the most strategic and high priority work of the Bank, including supporting District and annual high priority objective strategic planning processes and implementation.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide advisory services and planning support for assigned business lines and their leaders and informs complex business decisions using qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Develop deep business knowledge of supported client areas and builds relationships with assigned teams by evaluating and fully understanding the needs of clients and their respective business lines.
  • Provide support to client groups on best practices and how to implement the necessary changes to address business needs. Anticipate leadership needs and serves as a key contributor in long-term solution discussions. Presents outcomes in written and verbal formats to leadership teams.
  • Lead annual business planning meetings by guiding agenda planning, the development and coordination of pre-work, break-out session facilitation and co-facilitation. Drive outcomes and decisions and translates planning session output into action.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging issues and trends across assigned client groups to inform critical work of the Bank.
  • Support the Bank-wide strategic planning processes, including the development of the Bank's three-year strategic plan and annual high priority objectives and works with Bank support partners to support communication.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.


Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strategy development, business planning and facilitation expertise.
  • Independent and self-motivated with the ability to take the initiative to drive efforts forward; proactive communicator.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise information and/or instruction to key stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship building and customer service skills with ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly versatile with the ability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills; prudent judgment and decision-making ability and an innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Broad knowledge of Federal Reserve operations, risk mitigation and process improvement strategies, as well as project management processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma improvement methodology and techniques is preferred.
  • Ability to ask penetrating questions and identify unstated assumptions.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft office, particularly PowerPoint.
  • Broad knowledge of Federal Reserve operations, risk mitigation and process improvement strategies, as well as project management processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma improvement methodology and techniques is preferred.
  • Ability to ask penetrating questions and identify unstated assumptions.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft office, particularly PowerPoint.

  • Job title (Intermediate or Senior) and salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual's knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications/experience.
  • The Business Advisor, Intermediate hiring range is $84,800 - $106,000, annually
  • The Business Advisor, Senior hiring range is $105,100 - $131,400, annually
