Job Description

Hybrid:This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite1-3 times per week.

Job Summary:

The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Sr. SDET) ensures applications meet GM IT standards for functional, system, quality, security, performance and architecture requirements. We are looking to hire an outstanding software engineer who has taken their career to testing and development process automation to support a wide variety of applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on coding experience with Java, C# or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Work towards improving test automation frameworks and maintain scalable data sets for testing
  • Evaluate current test procedures/process and drive optimization
  • Utilize monitoring and reporting tools like AzDO and drive optimization
  • Develop and contribute to long term technical solutions and strategies of the QA organization
  • Identify quality weaknesses, suggest solutions and drive/initiate change
  • Build and cultivate relationships with development and business facing teams
  • Expertise in testing across various languages and architectures
  • Interact and collaborate with many teams multi-functionally
  • Support the delivery of code and features in the shortest period of time without sacrificing quality
  • Mentor and develop technical talent from new college hires to senior QA engineers

Additional Job Description

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of proven experience as development or test lead required
  • Proven understanding of test methodologies and process implementation experience
  • Experience with driving a test automation strategy
  • Sophisticated experience of test automation development, CI/CD tools, practices and methodologies
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related technical
  • Innovative and strategic problem solver with initiative to take action and create positive change
  • Must demonstrate outstanding communication and leadership skills

Preferred:
  • 8+ Years' experience

This position is available in our Austin, Texas (preferred) and Chandler, AZ Innovation centers. Relocation may be available for qualified candidates.
